Sock Snowmen Next Generation - 2025 Collection

Sock Snowmen Next Generation – 2025 Collection

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Hi my friends! I’m not quite ready for Christmas but I am ready for cooler temps! Last night I need (really needed) an emotional boost, life is rough lately and so I thought I’d make a sock snowman! Now, I’ve made hundreds of these little critters several years ago and you can see my lookbook of some of them here.

The Next Generation

But, these I’m calling are “Next Generation”, because I have more updated supplies, my skills have improved and I got a sewing machine too! So get ready! I’m starting this collection with these two babies finished last night, aren’t they adorable??!

They’re very easy to make! I used athletic white socks (I bought a 5-pack on AZ for a total of 10 snowmen that I can make) for their bodies but you can use fuzzy socks with patterns, the sky’s the limit on how creative you get! I used a couple of fuzzy socks for their hats and scarves. I didn’t use the sewing machine on these but the next set I will be sewing their hats so stay tuned!

To shape their bodies, I used a combo of rice and polyfil together. The rice gives it weight but I felt like it wasn’t holding its shape but adding the polyfil solved that problem. They stand up nicely!

I had black flat pearls/beads in my stash and of course buttons and to attach them, I went with Aleene’s Fabric Quick Fusion glue. It is perfect and they aren’t coming off! I just love them sitting on my pressing station!!! Can’t wait to make and share the next set! Links are below to what I used.
