BellaArt Creatives Podcast Impromptu Episode Blog Post – Staying Encouraged & Staying in the Fight

BellaArt Creatives Podcast Impromptu Episode - July 29, 2025 blog post

Today’s post comes from a place of spontaneity and soul. I typically record one podcast episode a month, but after watching a YouTube video this morning about the state of the crafting industry, I felt moved to speak. It wasn’t fear that pushed me—it was purpose. I needed to remind myself (and maybe you too) that even when things look uncertain, we can stay encouraged and keep going.

Here are five personal strategies that help me do just that:

1. Limit News & Media Consumption

Let’s be honest—there’s a LOT of noise out there. From opinion pieces to outright misinformation, the constant stream of negativity can quickly become overwhelming. I’m intentional about what I let into my mind and heart. I choose to hide or skip content that doesn’t serve my peace. That doesn’t mean being uninformed—it means being selectively informed.

2. Turn to Scripture for Encouragement

As a believer, my Bible is a major source of strength and clarity. One verse that really centers me is Philippians 4:8, which urges us to focus on what is true, lovely, pure, and of good report. In a world full of chaos, I’ve found peace by focusing on faith. It reminds me that I’m not alone, and I’m not without purpose—even in hard times.

3. Stick to Your Goals, Even When It’s Hard

I recently retired, and that transition has shaken up my routine. But even in this season of change, I’ve set goals for my eBay shop and my crafting projects. Whether it’s weekly sales or handmade items I want to create, I know that consistency counts. Even if your dream takes years, every small step matters.

4. Love What You Do

If something no longer brings you joy—whether it’s a product line, a service, or a hobby—it’s okay to reassess. Life is too short to keep doing things out of habit or pressure. I’ve had to pivot many times in my journey. I recommend journaling or creating a pros/cons list to clarify what fills your cup and what drains it. Then make space for the things that bring joy back.

5. Reward Yourself and Rest Intentionally

Rest isn’t just about sleep—it’s about mental and emotional recovery. For me, that might mean a scoop of rainbow sherbet with fresh berries or playing a simulation game on my phone. It might mean walking by the beach or curling up with a blanket. Don’t underestimate the power of small joys. They reset your spirit in big ways.

Final Encouragement

We’re all going through something. Maybe your business is slower than you hoped, or maybe life feels heavy right now. Just know: you are not alone. You can stay in the fight. You can move forward. You can press on with joy and grace.

“You don’t know who you might be inspiring just by showing up and pursuing your dream.”
