My knitted blanket - BellaArt Creatives

A Little Bit of Crocheting, A Little Bit of Knitting from the Past

Reading Time: 6 minutes

Hiya my friends! It’s been a bit since my last post but I’m back 🙂 I was rummaging through my files the other day and I was actually looking for some screenshots of something else when I found some photos of makes that I thought were lost!

I was so happy to find one in a particular, my choco/vanilla patchwork knitted blanket that I mentioned in this post. I remembered taking pics of it but I had no idea where to find them. Turns out, I saved them to my iCloud account along with these other photos.

Here’s the blurb about my blanket from that post:

I knitted several scarves with them including a large blanket I made by knitting quilt blocks using Lion Brand Hometown USA Aspen Tweed and Santa Fe Tweed yarns, one of my favorite yarns to play with. I forgotten how large my blanket was, but I remember it could cover a bed easily. I used “Aspen Tweed” for a light off white color and “Santa Fe Tweed” which is a darker brown for my quilt blocks and then after creating all the blocks, I knitted them altogether to complete the blanket.

So, here’s some pics of the blanket!

This blanket was so soft and I made it large enough for a chair. I’ve been thinking about re-creating this so if I do, I’ll share that!

Now, other makes I found in my archives are these, some are crochet newsboy hats

Here’s the lineup:

  • Crochet Baby Girl Dresses. A few more that I found, I can’t remember how many in total I made. Many of these sold at our local indoor yard sale (pics below)
  • Crochet purse/cell phone holder.
  • Crochet ruffled scarf that was long enough to wrap around made with Red Heart Boutique yarn.
  • Knitted Scarf. This was one of the first pieces I knitted with traditional needles.
  • Blue crochet poncho. I added tassels to the edges.
  • Crochet ombre super scarf.
  • Crochet red wrap. I may have another photo posted but I had to include it again because I remember how much I loved making this wrap.
  • Crochet ombre hat/scarf.
  • Crochet pink floppy hat with matching purse. This was another piece I really enjoyed creating.
  • Crochet newsboy hat (several poses). I added a flower to the side of the hat with a beautiful button.
  • 4 Crochet elf hats. These were fun to do with pom poms on the ends.
  • Crochet chevron pillow case cover.
  • Crochet cable stitch headband. This was a fascinating piece to create. I had not done a lot of cable crocheting.
  • Knitted men’s hat. I started learning to knit masculine hats for winter.

I added a few pics where I sold a bunch of my makes, the first photo was where I sold wraps and scarves at the local art center. The other photos are from a local indoor yard sale that is an annual event in our town.

It’s so fun looking at these photos again and remembering when I made these, it brings back many fond memories. And, what didn’t sell I donated to our local thrift store.
