Hey my friends! Today, I’m sharing a project made awhile back but I realized I never posted it! I made these for the Christmas holiday but this easy project can work for any holiday or even a birthday. It was too easy to make and quick too from Lisa Burningham’s YT channel. I don’t remember which video this was from but one of her holiday videos. Here’s a link to her channel.
Lisa is someone to follow if you love home decor, high-end dupes, room transformations, DIYing and holiday decorations. I love her style and have adapted many of her ideas in our home.
Getting Started
Here’s what you need:
- Snow Globe ornaments (bought from Dollar Tree, but you can find these on AZ too)
- Ribbon (any kind, I bought mine from Dollar Tree as well)
- Mini hot glue gun/hot glue sticks (I bought these from my local Fred Meyer store in the crafts section)
- Clear plastic cups (I bought mine from the local grocery store)
- Candy (I used peppermints, mini candy canes and sprinkles)
- Optional: embellishments
How to Assemble
You will be able to twist the machine to access the candy after assembling if you want. I made mine for decor and sit on our table.
- First thing is to twist off the cap on the snow globe and fill it with the candy of your choice. I used peppermints, mini candy canes and sprinkles. But, you can use chocolates, rock candies, anything that will fit inside will work.
- Twist the cap back on.
- I took some gingham ribbon I bought also at Dollar Tree and I hot glued it to brim of the caps. Then, I applied hot glue to the bottom of the plastic cup and adhered the globe to the cup and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Optional: on one of my gumball machines, I added snowflakes. I’m also a paper crafter, so I used a snowflake die set that I die cut on white cardstock and used liquid glue to adhere them to the outside of the gumball machine. If you’re not a paper crafter, you can use stickers if you want. Dollar Tree has a nice assortment of stickers that you can buy. That’s it! Aren’t they too cute?!

I’m not sure the pictures do these justice, in real life they are so adorable!!! And, I made these several months ago and they’ve held up all this time! Try this project next time you’re celebrating a special occasion! Thanks for Reading!
